Saving Money on Electricity
So many people are complaining about the cost of electricity when saving money on electricity is not hard. Now, are they just complaining for the sake of something to complain about? Yes, electricity is expensive, but how many times have you arrived home late at night or in the early morning hours and seen houses lit up like the carnival? Let us take a closer look at the houses. It does seem, in certain neighborhoods, they are either having permanent celebrations or there is a competition going on for the brightest houses - similar to the people that play who-has-the-best-garden. There may be "security" lights on at the porch, by the front door, the back door, over the garage and on various other parts of the buildings and property. Are they trying to light the way for a thief? It sure seems like they are making it so he does not trip and giving him a great view of the layout of the property? Maybe someone in the family will patrol inside the house in shifts look at the lit areas. Possibly someone is after their valuable "weeds." Maybe they hate their neighbors and hope the light will keep them awake at night. Whatever the reasons for this contradictory behavior, it would help everyone if the outdoor light shows were either reduced just plain do not use them! A logical alternative if you really believe you do need this type of security and/or convenience is to utilize motion detection illumination. Going with that line of thought and away from friendly thieves and bad neighbors, there are many other easy ways go about saving money on electricity.
